Call Process Update

The Process for Calling a New Pastor at Trinity

The process of calling a new pastor is thoughtful and prayerful, involving both church leadership and the congregation. While there is no fixed timeline, we are excited to share that we have now completed this process.

1. Ministry Site Profile Completed
Our Transition Team gathered input from the congregation to create a Ministry Site Profile (MSP). This document outlines who we are as a church—our mission, programs, finances, worship life, and community.

2. Congregational Approval
The MSP was reviewed and approved by both the Church Council and the congregation.

3. Synod Partnership
The MSP was submitted to the synod office. The Assistant to the Bishop used this profile to identify potential pastoral candidates, while candidates also used it to discern whether Trinity was a good fit.

4. Call Committee Formed
Trinity appointed a Call Committee to lead the next phase of the process.

5. Candidate Review & Interviews
The Assistant to the Bishop provided a list of potential candidates. The Call Committee reviewed these names and invited selected candidates to interview.

6. Recommendation to the Congregation
After interviews and prayerful discernment, the Call Committee recommended a candidate to the congregation.

7. Congregational Vote & Call Extended
On March 22, the congregation voted to extend a call to Reverend Chris Hogstad.
