August 22 ONLINE Worship

Hello and WELCOME to Trinity Pullman’s Online Worship for August 22!

Our Narrative Lectionary Series on the Sacraments continues. Today we journey to 60 AD and the Christian Group in Corinth.  Christian Community looked a bit different then. There was a strong sense of sharing everything  and that ALL would be treated equally. This was lived out in what was called the Agape Meal; basically a Potluck where everyone brought what they would have had for dinner and all share. Then at the end Communion would be celebrated.  But…TROUBLE IN CORINTH.

What does it mean to be a Christian? There are some heavy duty clues here:

Back to Parking Lot/Lawn Worship this Sunday

“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and first commandment. And you shall love your neighbor as yourself.” On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.’ Matthew 22.

These past weeks we have seen the pandemic take a turn backwards due to the Delta Variant. The Whitman County Health Department has confirmed that the Delta variant is here.

The Reopening Committee met Thursday and looked at benchmarks for in-person gatherings that were provided in a document from the synod. This led us to assess the current case rates in Whitman County and hospital capacity. The hospitals in Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho are nearing capacity and are transferring patients to other facilities to prevent overloading.  Spokane and Coeur d’Alene hospitals have cancelled all elective surgeries. Governor Inslee issued several new mandates yesterday.

Based on the data and our commitment to your health and safety, we made the difficult decision to return to parking lot worship this Sunday. We know this is short notice but we are nimble. We have developed the skill to pivot on short notice.

Worship is at the same time. You can bring chairs and sit outside or sit in your car. Kerry Swanson is ready to transmit via the FM radio. After worship there will be Ferdinand’s Ice Cream Grabbers for all as we welcome back WSU students.

Your Re-Opening Team is working hard to stay on top of this and will be re-evaluating on an ongoing basis.

God's blessings!

Pastor Wes, Sue Rammelsberg, Ruth Nice and Kerry Swanson

And Sunday Worship! Our Narrative Lectionary continues to work through the Wonderfully Rich letter to the Ephesians.  The Writer has amazing wisdom for us about how we allow ourselves to be manipulated and controlled by “empire” in its many forms.  According to Ephesians the primary way is to Divide us. Create fear, animosity, division, where God would have Gathering and Celebration.

Home Economics: God Style. Trinity Pullman Worship July 11

Hello All and Welcome to Trinity Pullman Online Worship for July 11,2021

Today we move into the second Summer Series, a four week dive into the Letter to Ephesians! Paul is writing to a beloved group of people; worrying about them and helping them regain a sense of purpose. “Capture the passion of God for ALL people, all things.” Not division, antagonism and fighting…that’s the ungodly work of the Empire, to keep us at odds and weak. God gathers ALL in and shows, well, basically gives us a Home Ec Class (the writer uses the Oikomene, house management) to describe how God’s world can run. Enjoy!

Trinity Pullman Online for June 27th!

Good morning all! Here is your Trinity Online Worship as we continue to walk with Jeremiah.  Just when he thinks events can't get any worse they do. Step by step the Babylonian Empire exerts its power over Jerusalem and the Jewish people, wave after wave of exiles carted off to Babylon. But in the midst of that...a small sign of hope. "Hey Jeremiah," says God, "you know that land owned by your cousin....go ahead and buy it! you'll be farming again soon."

Remember that NEXT SUNDAY we will once again be in the sanctuary.  "A glimmer of HOPE that this strange year is coming to an end...."

Trinity Pullman Worship and Joyful Noise for June 20th!!!

AND the story of Jeremiah continues.  Today the Prophet hears a word that won’t be popular,” You were hoping these current misfortunes (the Exile) were going to be short….not so. Better settle in and put down some roots in your new home.  Pray for the city in which you find yourself…”  Those words have broad implications for the shape of Christianity too….

Blessings on your week and HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

And Our Online Worship continues to delve into the story of Jeremiah!  Today the prophet is once again trying to get through to the King,  but POWER seldom wants to be corrected or told it can’t do as it wishes.  When a verbal word doesn’t work, Jeremiah sends a scroll…but the King dramatically burns each section  as it is read….
